An Icon System Built for Intent, Not Catalog Scale
Most icon libraries optimize for raw catalog scale, advertising tens of thousands of icons that frequently suffer from inconsistent corner radii, clashing optical stroke weights, and ambiguous metaphors.
Sxnnyside Eloquent Icons (SEI) takes the opposite approach: it is a curated, platform-agnostic SVG icon system built as an integral part of the Sxnnyside Project ecosystem. Rather than amassing speculative glyphs, every symbol in SEI exists because it was justified by a concrete need in a real production interface.
“Built with intent. Designed to speak without words.”
Non-Negotiable Design Principles
SEI enforces a strict visual grammar across its entire catalog:
- Created On Demand: Icons are designed only when required by active interface development, never produced in bulk.
- Consistency Over Quantity: Alignment of optical mass, padding, and stroke weight takes precedence over catalog size.
- One Concept Equals One Icon: Ambiguity is eliminated by assigning each distinct computational concept to exactly one definitive glyph.
- Enforced Optical Balance: Every icon is optically tuned and tested for clarity across 16px (micro), 20px (standard), and 24px (display) target scales.
Platform Agnostic Architecture
SEI delivers raw, clean SVG assets alongside official multiplatform distribution packages:
- Outline & Filled Variants: Maintained in distinct vector directories (
icons/outline/,icons/filled/) for flexible UI contrast states, with every icon on a strict 24×24 grid and truecurrentColortheming — filled variants use real SVG-mask transparency, not hardcoded colors. - Flutter:
flutter_sei— a type-safeSeiIconwidget over 140+ icons, no Material dependency required. - SwiftUI, UIKit & AppKit:
sei-swift— a type-safeSEIIconview resolved throughBundle.module, plusUIImage.sei(_:)andNSImage.sei(_:)for UIKit and AppKit. - Pure Dart:
dart_sei— zero-Flutter-dependency access (VM, Web/WASM, JS) for Jaspr, server-side Dart, and CLI tools. - Raw SVG: Every icon is also a plain
.svgfile, usable directly in any environment that can render one — no build step required.
Developer-Centric Iconography
In addition to standard interface metaphors, SEI provides specialized glyphs for developer environments — including AST nodes, diff markers, branch topologies, and cryptographic verification states.
